Re: Diy Pretreater Nearly Complete

Sounds good..will order both with the new pump I found. Came to the conclusion that making a fully manual pre-treament machine isn't worth the effort for the little saved.

Re: Stepper driver overheating

The KS42STH40-1204A only need 3.6 volts and 1.2 amps. I typically run nema 17 off no more than 12 volts and nema 23 at 24.

With that being said stepper motors of nema 17 do get pretty hot.

What printer do you have? I would clean your pf encoder. The sensor that is attached to the wheel. Make sure its also plugged in and that the wire plugs into the relay board..  https://i.ytimg.com/vi/RX9lYLhLp7o/maxresdefault.jpg Relay Board.  http://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/251616941202-0-1/s-l1000.j...

I saw your video where you grabbed the print head carriage while the printer was on and slide it over to the home position... NEVER do that! You will damage the mainboard. Re: Heed help!!

Replacing the print head alone is going to cost half the printer. The capping station another 100 usd. I agree with Andy just buy a new printer.

Re: Treatbot style pretreater

I been working on 2 designs for diy pre-treaters.

I will post up the 2 designs shortly. I am still picking parts for them.

1 is a cheaper version that requires very little electronics and parts. the other one is an arduino fully automatic one.
