Re: Use Ricoh SG 3110 DN as a DTG

Thought about this.. The ink type is different.. its a gel, it has different viscosity. Also they are only 4 colour printers. Sawgrass have an inkset they use for small fabric based prints "fabric maker" So if they have a solution for fabric then it is achievable to turn one into dtg. As s...

Re: r3000 print head installed into a p600

Should be okay. Ive used different heads for some time. 4880 and r1800/r1900. It works one way but not the other. I think it was 1800 into 4880. Was a long time ago and I can't really remember. Your suppose to input the qr code into of the head into the adjustment program. It is meant to send the co...

Re: What kind of ink do you use ?

My apologies for the crummy photos... My camera on my phone has seen better days. But just a few sample prints of the firebird ink on a 4880 based DTG. Plus they were taken at low resolution. I get some really good results from the Firebird. blood sweat and gears1.png blood sweat and gears2.png bloo...

Re: UV based on R1390

Yes, i Use to see this on R1900 and R1800 model DTG printers (DTG k3)
we use to call them run slow.

Not sure if it is a memory issues or not.
But a reboot solved most issues what lead me to believe it was a memory issue, rather than heat.

But both do help explain why.

Re: What kind of ink do you use ?

I currently use firebird with my job. We love it we do not suffer blocked nozzles like we use to with dupont. White ink isnt dull at all... its not as strong as dupont i will admit but by far the best ink in regards to stretch and washability. I will try getting some photos of sample prints for you ...

Re: Which Printers to use for DIY DTG

With doing plenty of reading etc.. i came across an epson range of printers fitted with CIS system. Unfortunately they do not offer and 8 channel printer for now.. but they do have a 6 channel. Anyway, i thought it may be of some interest to some people who are only interested in a CMYk setup or 2 c...

Re: P600 / R3000 OpenDTG Basic Design and Kit

Nice build... That is how i imagined it. The only thing i would want when i get around to doing it (planning at the moment) Is platen height adjustment. I don't think i would do a laser height adjustment like some brands... cool but a pain to setup. I like the style of the Brother branded DTG platen...
