Trying to print with ekrip

Thu Mar 09, 2017 12:16 pm

Hi,

Been away for a bit.. had a month of traveling in India :)

I'm trying to do a test print with my t-dozer printer.. Still just with the stock ink.. I press the load button.. load a picture into the ekrip demo I got and hit print. ekrip says the job is done and it says "printing" on the p600 display. The printhead moves over and does some adjusting and the platen moves a little and then goes to the front, but nothing is being printed. No error message on the printer display or in ekprint. What am I doing wrong?

Make sure EK is in the correct print mode. Some builds like OpenDTG need Sheet Mode others need Roll mode.

Sheet mode operates the printer like it is feeding a sheet of paper from the back tray to print on.
Roll mode assumes there is a roll of paper loaded into the printer and is ready to print.

Sheet mode did the trick.. But the print is very blury and wet.. I'm guessing the print head is too high.. It should be like 6 mm from the print surface if I remember right? Whats a good method of adjusting the height to get it even?

It should be 2-3 mm from the item you're printing on.

Height adjust is going to depend on how your platen system is. I have adjustment built in to the OpenDTG platen

Had to put in some spacers on the platen rail to get it high enough. The print is better, but its still quiet blury. The table the printer sits on isn't stable so its a lot of movement from the printer when the head moves and it prints so I need to find a better table.. :p Maybe I'll make a bench that I attach to the wall..

Tried to print again today. Have a more stable table now, but still getting blury prints. The printhead is now 3mm away from the paper. Any suggestions?

Adding some pics.. the line is just two a4 papers next to each other..

This is the original picture I'm using for the test.
