Hi andy,

I have already made all the connections on arduino & motor driver, and so far i am able to rotate my stepper motor with the printer motor in sync. But i am not able to understand the PE sensor fundamental. I am attaching 2 image of my PE sensor (from front and from rear), i can not figure out which wire is which one, and where i have to connect them. please refer to the image & help.
is the pin number 2 a ground wire, if yes then what are the rest 2 wires and where i have to plug these three in arduino.
thanks

I've added this video to YouTube on how to install the needed Arduino libraries

I had to adjust the steps to 3500 in order to eject the platen far enough back. Because of that adjustment, do I have to change any other settings?

The code is still open source.

The $20 is to help pay for my expenses. It isn't just a matter of writing some code, I've had to go and buy an Epson 1430, R3000, P600 and the hardware to go along with it to keep the development of the code moving forward. Without all of that the code would be at version 1 and there wouldn't be the development the electronics boards that are made available at a very affordable price and MUCH cheaper than anything else available.

Members do contribute but the bulk of the posts are me helping others.

I've spent 10 years and tens of thousands of dollars to gain this knowledge as well as continue to spend my personal time and money to contribute it on this forum.  I don't think asking for $20 so I don't have to continue buying printers out of my pocket isn't too much to ask.

Thanks for your quick answer Andy ,
1. If you made this forum for help purpose , why aren t you giving them all your informations?
Like the little boards you sell , someone can do it by him self ..but it will take more time for him to put it together , you have told them you cant trick this ..but only and just with the little *board*
And there is where i undestand that you have turned in a couple of months this OPENSOURCE forum in a good business.
I am a DTG builder since 2013 , i actually helped alot of people on how to DIY DTG without asking a cent , becouse i am selling my DTG PRINTERS too and i am making the developing by my personal money (company) .If someone want to do it by him self ( spend alot of time and money ,broke printers and arduino /drivers /power supplys / etc. )i will help him to do it . But some of them just want a printer ready at a fair price and i sell it to them at a very low price. This is fairplay for me .
I wanted to share some tips and help people on this forum , but after i have seen i need to pay for help someone i really dont get it ..why? .  Sure if you want to earn for upcoming projects , just ask in a new topic people to DONATE , if they are interested will DONATE ( i am sure they will do it ) . But dont put a 20$ charge for someone just to visit/understand what other ask about ( to understand someone problem you ask him to attach picture ( the picture worth more then 1000 words ) .

Good luck with your project , if you need some help just ask .

Sorry for my english

Best regards,
Valentin

Valentin,

I appreciate your feedback and advice.

Yes, ideally everything would be open and free with many contributors. The reality of it was that only a small core group actually contributed (much appreciated).

My goal and vision for this forum is to make DIY DTG more accessible to anyone that wants to do it through information, code and affordable parts.

There is nothing even close to this because of the amount of time, money and effort it takes with little return if any. I'd much rather force everyone that benefits to donate $20 and have this become a great source of information than it be 100% free and wither and die because I can't personally continue to fund it.

Good luck to you as well.
